Hi Jean
For that size of bench i would be suggesting a 10m cable as the closer you run the cable the less energy it uses to get to the required temperature. The Thermostat are very very easy to use so don't worry about it being complicated. If you go to the products on the website and order the pricing will show up for you and they are in stock so would be with you very quick.
