am I right, these beds do not have a timber base but are open to the soil?How re timbers held together? Screws,posts or brackets?

Hi Jim. You are correct, the beds do not have a base an sit directly on the soil. The timbers are held together using screws which are fastened through the timber and into the 3 inch square internal corner posts.
