Can I put shredded woody garden waste in the bin alongside soft green garden waste and food waste? A friend told me I needed to add sawdust?

Hi Nicky. No need for sawdust although wood pellets do help with the composting process. You can put in woody bits but just make sure they are not to thick as they can take quite some time to break down.
