If I put this on a lawn, would I need to dig up the grass first, or would it be OK to leave under the soil, if I was growing veg?

Hi Tina. Due to the depth of this bed there is no need to dig up the grass. With 14 inches of soil nothing can grow up through this so the grass will just die off in time and the worms will break up the soil and make there way up in to the new soil that you add to the beds.
