The New Zealand composters are brilliant but slow in winter particularly. A bit like your Dalek composters. Also wood food waste they can attract vermin. The door on the JK400 is actually quite big and to be honest the volume of compost they get through due to the heat is immense. That said there is a lot of filling and emptying but it works fantastically. If it was me i would maybe look at a JK400 in conjunction with a NZ double composter. One the produce comes out of the JK400 it can go in to the first of the NZ composter sides and then can transfer for complete finishing in the other side quite quickly
