Hi is this like a pond filter and do you put gravel in it or pond plants in baskets or both many thanks neil.

Hi Neil. The cascade planter is not a filter as the water for the cascade is piped directly to the stainless steel water blade. We are currently working on a tank design where the cascade planter is watertight and able to be used as a live bio filter as you describe. I hope this makes sense. Andrew
