Hi, we currently burn turf in our wood-burning stove. I know that wood-ash is ok for the garden, but is turf-ash? Not briquettes. If so, can I put it in a composter, or directly on the ground?

Hi Ann - you can of course put organic turf ash in your composter, though we would recommend a low enough proportion of it, around 10%. You can also spread straight on the ground if you like, it works best near fruit trees. Thanks, Meg - Quickcrop
