Hello, Is the hotbin able to cope with the daily waste of a golden retriever along with kitchen & garden waste? Also, would it be able to cope with cut grass from a 1/2 acre site or would an alternative composting method be best for this waste?

Hi Marie. I don't recommend putting pet waste in a hotbin as it doesn't get hot enough to safely deal with it. It will not be able to deal with that amount of grass either. You may be better with the next step up, the Joraform rotating compost bin but I would need to check on the safety of pet waste. With regard to lawn I would highly recommend a mulching mower at some stage as continually mowing and removing half an acre of grass will regrade the soil over time. A mulching mower cuts the grass very finely and spreads where it breaks down and the nutrients go back into the soil.
