Hi Gina
There is no need for them. You will see in the instructions and when you build the unit that the Cold frame has extensions on each corner that allow the unit sit down inside the vegtrug snugly. This holds it in place against high winds. You can of course fix an metal plate to the vegtrug and then on to the cold frame but in my opinion this is overkill. I have a 1.8m unit with a cold frame on top in a windy spot and never had any issues
