Yes a mix of all 3 is exactly what is required. For the brown waste all i do is tear up the cardboard and paper that comes through my house and it works really well. Just be sure to add the 3 in a layered format. So a small layer of grass then brown waste then kitchen waste and so on. This help the heat build up which is what you are after
