There is no base on these so if you are adding cooked food you may end up with a rodent problem. You can put uncooked food in and that won't be an issue. If you want to add all of your cooked and uncooked food waste in you would need to be looking at the Rotating compost bin or better still the Hotbin, Joraform or Hungry Bin. Obviously as you see by the price the Joraform is the best of the lot
