The only 2 veg that i don't bother doing in trays like this are Carrots and Parsnips. Both are much better grown directly in to the ground from seed. The reason for this is that the root goes very deep well before it is time to take the plug out of the tray. This means that the root starts to curl at the bottom of the tray and you will only get small carrots as a result
