I am not sure additional treatment will make any difference, once the timber has been treated with preservative, it doesn't follow that more will offer enhanced protection. You could use an impermeable plastic sheet between the outside soil and the timber to offer some protection which may help increase the life of the bed. Either way, the preservative used is also designed for use with fence posts which are permanently buried so you should still get a good working life out of the bed. I hope this makes sense.
