DO I NEED EXTRA DRAINAGE IF SITTING ON A CONCRETE BASE? CAN I ADD PAVING SLABS INSIDE THE BED? Premier 53cm FSC Timber Raised Garden Beds Premier Beds

I have a concrete path along the side of my garden which is a little over 3ft wide, and I want to put a couple of raised beds on it (a 6x3 ft and a 3x3 ft one, next to each other). I gather I can buy the appropriate lining and the lining will be fine sitting on the concrete, but will I need to add any drainage holes anywhere? Also, could I add a few paving slabs (or other material?) inside the bed to help raise the base/lining off the ground a bit? (I think I still want 21 inch height, even if I don't use the full depth of it just at the moment).

Hi there

You won't need extra drainage in the bed if placed on a hard surface as moisture can still escape around the edges of the bed. The liner is a semi-permeable membrane which allows water to escape while keeping soil particles in.
