Can you sew micro mesh?

I want to make a custom-sized fitted cover so I can have a small (but tall!) cage over my brassicas with easy access Velcro openings. I had an old bought one which is now coming to pieces and they don’t make them any more. Do you think it would be possible to sew this micro mesh? (Preferably with a sewing machine…)

Hi there. Thank you for your question. In my opinion you could sow micromesh though perhaps not directly due to the relatively large mesh size. I think the solution would be to sow in thin strips of a suitable fabric at the seams to provide extra purchase and stability. I am afraid I am not a sewing expert but I notice this method is used on most mesh or polythene garden structures. I hope this helps.
