Hotbin Composter - Hot Compost Bin 200 Litres
I understand that the hot bin kills off a lot of weed seeds? I have a medium sized garden and have a system with 3 bins which I turn on to one another. I’m quite happy with this on the whole and get good compost. I don’t need to speed things up but I would dearly love to kill off some of the weed seeds. If I put a hot bin in as part of my system. Maybe the middle bin would this achieve my aim?

Hi Sue. When the Hotbin in running well it will do exactly that as it builds up great heat in the centre. It totally depends on the mix of what are you adding to the unit. So it is important to follow the instructions and Videos on how to use it. The Joraform does the same but it is easier to get the heat in to this. I use one of these myself and it kills 90% of my weeds for re-composting. However it doesn't kill off heavy weeds like Dockweeds etc
