Hi NiallMany thanks for your reply but I was thinking of protecting the wood, not prevent weeds. That's why I said that I didn't need it for the base. Or is the wood treated sufficiently to last for ...... years??

Hi Geraldine
The wood is treated sufficiently to last with moisture getting on to it from the soil so i wouldn't worry about that. I am not sure that the liner would extend the life by much.
